Untamed | Sanctuary environment

Some more shots to give a better sense of scale. I included an entrance area, that would allow some better pacing. I was really inspired by the classic Zelda Fairy Fountains that provide this peaceful environments

For the materials I put a heavy focus on getting the basecolor working. For a while I wasn't sure how far I wanted to take the stylization and painterly effect in the material. So from time to time I added more details to the height and normal maps

Some additional materials for the foliage items. All of them created in Substance Designer (except the assembly of the vines for and leave placement of the ivy)

Untamed | Sanctuary environment

This is my take on Paul Trochu's Sanctuary, created for the Artstation Challenge: Untamed! When Animals Ruled the World.
As I was working on this scene I wanted to put a bit more emphasize on the autumn feel and provided the scene with a optimistic tone. I imaged little frogs coming here, offering flowers to their lost king who is surrounded by his lost friends.

The beautiful concept from Paul Trochu:
